Doyon Utilities Announces Nationwide Search for New Chief Financial Officer
February 18, 2026 – Fairbanks, AK – Doyon Utilities, LLC (DU) has launched a nationwide search for its next Chief Financial Officer, following the planned retirement of current CFO, Doug Bishop later this year. DU has retained CarterBaldwin Executive Search to assist with the search which will be led by Chris Guiney, who heads the firm’s energy and infrastructure practice.
Doyon Utilities operates one of the most unique utility platforms in the United States, providing essential power, heat, and water services to more than 55,000 soldiers, airmen, families, and DoD civilians across key U.S. military installations across Alaska. With a service area larger than the state of Delaware, DU is Alaska’s third largest utility company in terms of utility infrastructure. DU is equally owned by Doyon Limited, Interior Alaska’s Regional Native Corporation, and Corix, a North American energy company.
DU’s oversight of 12 different utility systems across 3 military bases was awarded in 2008 in the largest Utilities Privatization contract awarded by the Department of Defense to date. Now in year 18 of its 50-year privatization contract, the company seeks a CFO to provide executive-level financial leadership during this critical phase of its mission.
Reporting to President and CEO Lou Florence, the CFO will oversee all financial and accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, rate regulation, financing, treasury, tax planning, and cost-benefit analysis. The CFO will also serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and collaborate closely with owners, the Board, the management team, government and military stakeholders, regulators, community leaders, and key partners.
